How to set up a Performance Improvement Plan

This course was developed to give a better understanding of how to set up a Performance Improvement plan to be in compliance with the CMS Quality Standards. All DMEPOS (DME & O&P) facilities who want to apply with Medicare to be a provider or those with a current Medicare provider number must be Accredited by one of the 10 deemed accredited organizations. In addition to meeting the 30 CMS DMEPOS Supplier Standards, the DMEPOS provider is also held to the Medicare Quality Standards. The Quality Standards are explained in the CMS publication released in October 2008. In order to be compliant with the Quality Standard the supplier must provide proof of an on-going Performance Improvement program showing they are in compliance by tracking and monitoring certain indicators. This course will give you step by step instructions of what should be in an effective Performance Improvement program.
