2019 A1 Infection Control - Annual Training

Healthcare workers are at risk of acquiring bloodborne pathogens in their day to day activities. This course covers OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogen Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030) on how individuals can protect themselves and how to reduce risks. This course is provided for both DMEPOS owners and their employees, both for their own personal safety as well as compliance with Accreditation training standards. All employees should complete this training upon hire and then annually. After taking this course you should be able to:
  • Identify bloodborne pathogens (BBPs)
  • Understand how diseases are transmitted
  • Determine your risk of exposure
  • Protect yourself from exposure through prevention
  • Respond appropriately if exposed
  • Understand your right to medical evaluations
  • Understand facts about TB and why health care workers are at risk
